Sirens rang out at Algonquin`s residence building Thursday night (Feb. 11), forcing students to evacuate due to a pulled fire alarm.

The alarm was pulled around 11:15 p.m. and by 11:20, firetrucks began arriving at the building.

Students were asked over a loud speaker to go to the College`s `D` building and await further instruction. Many residents remained across the road from the scene, choosing to wait out the situation in the cold.

At 11:50 p.m., students were allowed back into residence where they were identified using their student cards at the door.

According to Residence Life Manager Laura Robinson the alarm is suspected to have been pulled somewhere on the first floor.
