Ottawa football fans can finally get their fill thanks to an Algonquin student. The Ottawa Invaders were started by James McAllister, an avid football player that had nowhere to play. The Invaders are joining the Northern Football Conference (NFC), whose purpose has always been to provide athletes over the age of 19 the opportunity to play football beyond the high school level.

“Be careful with the shoulder cross block, otherwise you will break his arm,” said world champion arm wrestler Devon Larratt –and with that last bit of advice, the Fitness Zone’s annual arm wrestling competition officially began. The competition took place Feb. 4., in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd, circling a table where, for 45 minutes, 12 male gym members showed of their skills and got ready to find out who had the strongest arm at Algonquin.
